VIN history for US cars imported to Kazakhstan
Almaty, Astana, and Shymkent often buy cars that left a US auction and moved through Poti toward the Caspian or an overland corridor. This page is a VIN check before you send a deposit in tenge. carfax.now is an independent vehicle-history service, not the official CARFAX website.

Why the history matters in Kazakhstan
An American car in Kazakhstan rarely has an empty past. The seller has auction photos. The buyer needs to know whether that is one impact or a salvage, rebuilt, or flood brand. A VIN ties the car to US records: odometer readings, title status, accidents, insurance losses, and sometimes service visits.
Kazakhstan drives on the right, and a US left-hand-drive car fits that traffic, so these cars sit naturally on local lots. That does not make the title clean. A rebuilt brand may still allow registration, but it changes the price and what an insurer will consider. The history is the first document in the negotiation, not a customs calculator.
Dealers in Almaty and Astana often sell a car that is still in transit. Photos plus the VIN are enough to read the record before you travel to the lot. If there is no record, you see that before paying. An empty VIN does not become a paid PDF.
How a US car reaches Kazakhstan
A common chain is a US auction, a container or truck to the Black Sea, then Poti. From there some cars go by sea toward Aktau and some by another land route. Duty, recycling fees, and emissions rules change, and this page does not invent a tariff. The work here is the vehicle history, not customs clearance and not a way around official payments.
The seller changes along the way: auction announcement, forwarder, then a Kazakh dealer. Each step shortens the description. A “light hit” at the auction can mean deployed airbags or a radiator support that moved. Read the record next to the auction note, not only the latest advertisement.
Khorgos and other land crossings are a separate logistics path. The VIN still has to match the papers, the body stamping, and the sticker under the glass. If one of the three differs, compare the history before you wire a deposit.
What to read in the report
The first line is the title brand: clean, salvage, rebuilt, flood, lemon, or junk. In Kazakhstan a salvage car is often repaired and sold as an ordinary car. That can be lawful if the buyer knows. The price should reflect welding, paint, and safety systems, not only the year and engine size.
Odometer readings are the second issue. US records show intermediate values. If the auction lists 180,000 miles and an Almaty ad lists 80,000 kilometres, the gap is a bargaining point. Miles and kilometres get mixed up, but a tenfold gap is no longer a unit conversion.
Water and hail from southern US states show up often. The cabin can look dry in photos after a carpet is replaced. A water brand stays in the history. Carfax records and AutoCheck records are not copies of each other, because the sources differ. If the first report shows damage, the second one is worth ordering too.
Price and the PDF
The full report is in English, because that is how the record provider delivers it. The site itself is available in Georgian, Russian, and English. The PDF stays in your account after payment. Whether records exist is shown before you pay.
The tenge figure on this page is a guide so a buyer in Almaty or Astana can compare it with lari. The card is charged in GEL. This is not a Kaspi invoice and not a Kazakh bank payment. If you need a local payment method, write on Telegram before you open an order.
The report does not replace a lift inspection in Shymkent or Astana, and it does not replace matching the VIN on the frame. It removes the surprise that is already written in US databases while the car is still described as almost unmarked in chat.
