A smaller market, the same US record
In Kyrgyzstan the choice of cars is narrower, so the seller’s text faces fewer alternatives. That is when the record matters: salvage, rebuilt, flood, and odometer are not a local rumor. They are a line in a US database. Read the US history before the word “clean” reaches the ad.
The country drives on the right, which fits left-hand drive. That does not make the title clean. A handsome photo in a Bishkek ad can be an auction car that has already been painted.
Some dealers buy to resell. Some families buy to keep. The same VIN check stops a bad deposit for both. This page is not a re-export manual and it does not explain how to avoid a government charge.
From Poti to Bishkek
A common route runs from a US auction to the Black Sea and Poti, then along a long overland stretch. Exact duty and emissions rules change. No tariff is written here. What is written is the record that already travels with the car.
The seller changes along the way and the wording gets softer. “Starts and drives” can mean an airbag light is on. The report shows that when the source has the line. When the source is empty, you see the empty result before you pay.
An inspection in Osh or Bishkek is still required. History does not cancel the lift. It removes the surprise that photos hide because the carpet is already new.
What to match against the ad
The year, engine size, and VIN in the ad should match the first page of the report. If the VIN is right and the year is not, the seller mixed up the car or the papers belong to another vehicle. In that case the deposit stops.
Convert miles before you trust kilometres. Ads in Kyrgyzstan often show a handsome odometer figure. An intermediate US reading shows whether that figure is real or was written at the last step. Carfax records are useful for that chain. AutoCheck records add a second source when the first one already shows damage.
